About the Parameters of HAWACH Glass Fiber Extraction Thimbles
HAWACH glass fiber extraction thimbles are made of 100% alkali-free glass fiber and processed at high temperatures, which is adhesive-free and chemically inert. It can collect small and sub-micron particles. It is a high-efficiency filtering device that captures soot, acid mist, aerosol, beryllium compounds, etc. It has the advantages of high-temperature resistance, low weight loss, high efficiency, and good strength, which is widely used for monitoring air pollution sources under various circumstances.
Parameters
HAWACH has three kinds of glass fiber extraction thimbles: SLGET32120, SLGET2590, and SLGET2870, with flow pressure 14-16mmHg, 16-18 mmHg, and 18-20 mmHg respectively. Its maximum temperature is 600℃, the DOP Retention is over 99.99%, and weight loss is less than 0.2.
Uniqueness
The glass microfiber extraction thimbles provided in this line are made of 100% borosilicate glass microfiber without the need for adhesives or reinforcements. These extraction thimbles offer many advantages in a wide range of analytical applications, which are used to make these depth filters smooth and uniform.
This permits their characteristically high flow rates while allowing the retention of exceptionally small particles and high load capacity. These characteristics are particularly important in applications involving high concentrations of particulate or gelatinous substances. When selecting the appropriate extraction thimbles for a particular application, careful consideration should be given to the physical form and concentration of the substance to be trapped by the extraction thimbles.

Reference application
HAWACH glass fiber extraction thimbles can be applied in Soxhlet extraction and stationary pollution source detection. It is used when cellulose extraction thimble with a temperature higher than 120℃ and strong acid cannot be used. It is also used for detection of fixed pollution sources: flue gas, soot; such as cadmium, nickel, tin, fluoride, etc. of fixed pollution sources in the atmosphere, lead, asphalt smoke, sulfuric acid mist, etc., ambient air and exhaust gas arsenic, dioxin, etc.
The glass microfiber extraction thimbles are often used in the gravimetric method at high temperatures; Acid gas gravimetric method; Extraction methods commonly used in biochemical analysis.
Notes about the application
But for the fixed pollution sources in the atmosphere, you also need to understand the properties of dust: ordinary dust, ultra-fine dust, wet dust or flammable and explosive dust. The filter material is set, then you must decide the number of folds or effective filtering area of your filter cartridge It will determine whether the air volume of the extraction thimble matches the air volume of the entire dust collector, otherwise, either the dust collector’s dust removal effect is not good or the extraction thimbles’ service life is short.
How to use it
After the extraction thimble is numbered, put it in a drying box and dry it at 150℃ for 30 minutes. Then take it out and cool it in a dryer for 30 minutes. After taking out, weigh it and use it. After sampling, it was placed in a 100℃oven for 30 minutes, and then cooled in a dryer for 30 minutes and weighed.
