Design Features and Operation Principle of Extraction Thimble

Cellulose extraction thimble is usually used in various Soxhlet extraction, rapid solvent extraction, or other similar extraction applications. It is specially designed to hold solid samples to be extracted (liquid and semi-solid samples are fixed and loaded by appropriate solid carriers according to the corresponding application method) and placed in a sufficient amount of solvent (usually organic solvent) environment. The sample and solvent are provided with a fully isolated and fully contact environment. The extractable components in the sample are separated by dissolution in the solvent. Has a variety of models and wall thicknesses, suitable for various applications with most extraction designs.
Hawach Cellulose Extraction Thimbles for Soxhlet

The wide selection of Extraction Thimble

Hawach is available in a wide selection of extraction thimbles, which is available in a variety of dimensions and sizes to fit most Soxhlet extraction units in different conditions, and all Hawach cellulose extraction thimbles are manufactured in high-quality purity glass microfiber.

What’s more, it is also characterized by consistent and good wall thickness. Custom-designed products are available for various sleeves and additional dimensions. Outer diameter measurements can also be applied by adding twice the wall thickness plus the inner diameter. Once ordering, please require precise outer diameter measurements for use in automated extraction devices.

Operation Principle of Extraction Thimble

The operation principle of the chemical extraction device is as followed: the samples are added to the reaction vessel of the chemical extraction device. After chemical reagents are heated and interacted with, the specific groups in the sample are broken and transported to the condensing reflux tube by the carrier gas.

Once condensing excess water vapor with a chemical reagent, the group to be tested is transported. Hawach extraction thimble has a wall thickness of 1–1.5 mm. Hawach extraction thimbles have a 2-thickness wall for applications that require increased wet、dry strength, and increased retention.

What’s more, measurements are fit for different extractor systems. It can be applied in a wide variety of solid-liquid extraction studies, including lipid and pesticide analyses in food and soil samples. And excellent mechanical strength and retention make it suitable for temperatures up to 120°C. The wall thickness of standard thimbles is 1–1.5 mm to support application needs for added rigidity.

All Hawach extraction thimbles are manufactured from high-quality cellulose cotton linter for high-performance use in automated extractor systems. The Hawach extraction sleeve is more closely than the standard grade, and the Hawach extraction sleeve has better permeability than the standard grade.
