Function and Manufacturing Beating Process Conclusion of Filter Paper

Filter paper function and filter paper category

As we know, the function of filter paper is to remove smoke and harmful dust from the air, separate impurity particles from the liquid, and block bacteria and microorganisms. From the use, filtration filter paper can be divided into air filter paper and liquid filter paper. Filter paper is based on inorganic fiber, plant fiber, synthetic fiber. Filter paper is made by using one or more inorganic fibers, plant fibers, and synthetic fibers as raw materials, adding appropriate amounts of chemical additives and fillers, and using papermaking technology.

Filter paper has good filtration performance and a porous filter medium. In addition to the selection and ratio of raw materials for filter paper production, the control of beating and wet weight is also the main link in the production of filter paper. The parameters of the filter paper can be adjusted by beating.

The pulp after being cleaned and screened is not suitable for direct use in papermaking. Micron filter manufacturer uses physical methods to treat pulp fibers suspended in water to make them suitable for the production requirements of paper machines and to make the produced paper achieve the expected quality. This operation is called beating.

Since the pulp fiber is quite elastic, it is used to make paper without any treatment, it is difficult to obtain a uniform distribution when deposited on the net, and the strength of the paper is bound to be very low. In addition, the unbeaten pulp still contains undissociated fiber bundles. These fiber bundles are smooth and hard, some are too long, some are too thick, and lack the necessary cutting and splitting. If you use it to make paper, you will get the product, which appears loose, porous, with a rough surface and low strength, which cannot meet general requirements. The paper produced from the beating-treated paper material has a compact and uniform structure and greater strength.

During the beating process, the fiber mainly undergoes the displacement and deformation of the cell wall, the destruction of the outer layer of the primary wall and the secondary wall, the water absorption and swelling of the fiber and the fibrillation, transverse cutting, crushing, rubbing, etc., and these effects are happened simultaneously during the whole process, not in isolation.

Beating method of filter paper

The beating method that mainly cuts the fibers in the transverse direction is called free beating, and the beating method that mainly splits the fibers in the longitudinal direction to make them into fine fibers is called sticky beating. In the actual beating process, both cutting and splitting of fibers occur at the same time. The problem is only the difference in degree. Therefore, we assume that beating only has the effect of cutting the fibers crosswise, without splitting the fibers longitudinally, which is impossible. Conversely, if it is desired that beating only splits the paper fibers longitudinally, and does not allow transverse cutting, it is also impossible.

The free pulped paper material will filter water faster on the copper screen during papermaking, and the quality of the finished paper is relatively loose and porous. However, the vicious beating paper material has a better fibrillation effect during the beating, and the fiber becomes soft and plastic with a slippery feel. When the paper material is made, the water on the copper wire is slower and the paper becomes paper, with greater tightness.

According to the above, the beating can be roughly divided into the following four methods according to the requirements for the degree of fiber cutting and splitting: (1) Long fiber-free beating; (2) Short fiber-free beating; (3) Long fiber viscous beating; (4) Short fiber vicious beating. In the actual beating operation, there are semi-free beating and semi-viscous beating between free and vicious beating; similarly, long fiber beating refers to the mainstay of long fibers, and short fiber beating is not excluded, which simultaneously exist.

Conclusion for filter paper

The primary task of beating is to give the paper some specific properties through mechanical action, so as to ensure that the expected quality can be obtained after making paper or cardboard. In the papermaking process, it is often necessary to add certain additives (such as sizing material, aluminum sulfate, fillers, pigments, etc.) to the pulp to improve the quality of the paper; these additives are often added during the beating process to make the pulp achieve a homogeneous mix.

Conclusion for filter paper, beating itself is a complicated and meticulous production process. It varies with the type of beating equipment and the beating operating procedures. The same paper material produces different types of paper, and the operating procedures are also different. Therefore, the paper mill should proceed from the actual situation, summarize the experience of the production practice, and formulate a reasonable and feasible beating process operation procedure as the basis for the beating workers to control the beating operation.
